Developing and Validation of Post-Traumatic Growth Protocol for Iranian Veterans

Background and Aim: Post-traumatic growth is a new concept in psychology, which is called positive personal changes that occur after a personchr('39')s exposure to traumatic events. The purpose of this study is to Compilation and validates the post-traumatic growth protocol for veterans of war. Methods: This research was conducted in a cross-sectional descriptive study in 2018. The statistical society includes all veterans of the eight years of holy defense who have come to Tehran health centers. 406 people were selected through available sampling. Data were collected by demographic information questionnaire and Post-Traumatic Growth Index (PTGI) and then analyzed by SPSS-21 software. The protocol after the compilation by the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research & Evaluation (AGREE) validation tool was studied by the professors of this field. Also, the Content Validity Index (CVI) and Content Validity Relative (CVR) were calculated in this protocol. Results: The results of validation of the Compilation protocol were as follows: the vision and purpose of 77.77%, the participation of the stakeholders 91.96%, the accuracy and methodology of the compilation 98.9%, the explanation and presentation 97.5%, the ability to use 66/96 Percent, independence in the 100% editing, and in the final evaluation section, 90% recommended the use of this protocol. Also, Content Validity Index (CVI) was 94% and the Content Validity Relative (CRV) was 86%. Conclusion: The results showed that; The post-traumatic growth protocol designed for war veterans for 8 sessions and each session for 120 minutes has the appropriate validity and reliability and can be used by psychologists and specialists in this field and help the well-being of veterans.
